Day Three!
Morning came with much excitement. The sweet smell of breakfast came wafting up the stairs, and pleasantly filled our room. We trudged down the stairs to find a plethora of amazing food. Unfortunately as soon as we sat down to eat the car horn was going off in the front yard, so we feasted with our eyes and we were out the door as fast as our feet could carry us with muffins falling out of our pockets. At half past nine we arrived at the church building for a time of evangelistic discussion. Jed Smith and Taylor Nugent led us with testimonies and encouragement in closing we all separated into small groups to share our personal testimonies. There is something so refreshing about the fellowship of believers. It was an excellent way to set the pace for the day. After lunch we set off to do yard work at the church building. The team work and joyful attitudes were such a display of Godly character. I would imagine the parents of these remarkable kids would be shocked to see their children up so early, happy to dig and pull weeds. After a long afternoon in the sun, we went and partied at a pool and had some down time before we went down to the beach to evangelize. It was a swift evening seeds were scattered. The Lord is working! Thank you so much for your prayers, please continue to keep us on your hearts. Tomorrow is a new day!

Day Two!
The break of dawn came far too early. The red flashing numbers seemed to take longer then normal to come into focus. It was 6:30am and the long night at the girls house had caught up with us. I was surprised by the joyful enthusiasm of the girls. They were such an example to me as they got ready for the day. Living here my whole life, I have long had the desire to see Christ known in my community. It was such a gift and blessing to see the same love and desire reflected in the eyes and hearts of these people who had never been to Daytona.
Our first stop began by getting the game plan at Jesse and Tiffany's house.
Then we separated into three groups, I am not entirely sure where the others ventured off to. However the group I was placed with consisted of a few families and members of the Daytona church and some outstanding missinons:Xers from Orlando and St. Pete.We had and an unsuccessful morning at our local Wal-Mart. After risking our lives on the medians and throwing ourselves in front of unsuspecting cars, we attempted to hand out free coffee and orange juice. We soon ventured to a near by park/playground.
The sun was blaring down with an unsuspected force, thus causing the refreshing smell of morning coffee to become less and less enticing, So we changed our tactics and went for the orange juice. Soon we moved on to other parts of the city putting up flyers for the concert at the bandshell on Saturday. (You should come!)
Our team moved on quickly to our local community college to hand out more flyers and spread the word about the concert. Little did we know that it was illegal...however it was encouraging to see students leaving the campus holding the flyers. We got a good deal of responses from the shirts Jesse made for us. I'm not sure if its the bright green color or the Greek words on the front that gets their attention. The Greek words mean Life Eternal or Eternal Life whichever way you see it. The shirts are so helpful in opening doors, they help to reference scriptures such as John 17:3- "And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."
John 3:16- "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Romans 6:23- "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Okay so, after putting up posters and handing out flyers, we proceeded to the church building where we began to prepare for the $1 car wash. It started at 3:00pm and we had many people from church come out to help wash cars and hold up signs. (Thank you all so much for your help and willingness to serve!) There were also people inside the building who were telling the visitors about the church and giving out free pastries and drinks. It was so encouraging to see so many people come out for the event, ready to serve in any way that they could. Not many people stopped to get their car washed, but even if we planted a seed in one person, it would be totally worth it. Please be praying for the people we have reached out to over the past few days...and that we won't die of a heatstroke. :) God is so good!

Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men."
